Dr. Renick studied at Westminster College, Princeton, NJ, Santa Barbara College, Santa Barbara, CA, Northlake College, Dallas, TX; Parker Chiropractic College, Dallas, TX; Spine Research Institute, San Diego, CA, and Active Release Techniques Institute, Colorado Springs, CO.
Dr. Renick has long been noted as an authority in soft tissue treatment & injury. In addition to studying massage therapy, he extensively studied Myofascial Therapy with one of the leading experts & authors, Dr. Jeffery Rockwell who worked with its founder, Janet Travell, MD. Dr. Renick received Masters Certification in soft tissue injury from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, CA; one of only a few to complete the training in the southeast. After following the recent developments in the newest soft tissue & athletic injury methods, Active Release Techniques (ART), Dr. Renick pursued training in ART and completed credentialing in all three disciplines of ART. Each of the three disciplines, spine (trunk), upper extremity, and lower extremity, required extensive study and preparation, and passing rigorous practical & written exams with a minimum of 90%. Dr. Renick has also completed all ART advance training including Athletic Biomechanics, Nerve Entrapment, and the Masters program. Dr. Renick is the first ART Doctor in South Carolina.
Dr. Renick is board certified in chiropractic & physical therapeutics, and holds licenses in both South Carolina & Texas. He has additional post-graduate training in rehabilitation, diagnosis, scoliosis, biomechanics, Gonstead techniques & methodology, nutrition, weight management, and anti-aging.
Dr. Renick often receives patient referrals from Orthopedists, other MD's & insurance companies. He often is called upon for independent medical examinations (IME), second opinions, and rendering expertise opinions regarding soft tissue injury cases.
Dr. Renick is a member of the Elite Provider Network for ART as well as the Ironman Provider Network.
Dr. Renick is a respected lecturer. He has been a featured speaker at Baptist Medical Center, several schools, and at community & athletic organizations.
ART has become the treatment of choice for many athletic injuries. Dr. Renick has treated many of the world's best athletes in addition to Olympic, US nationally ranked, USC, Clemson, & The Citadel athletes. He serves as an official ART Doctor for the Ironman Triathlons including the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
