We Uniquely Offer Active Release Soft Tissue Methods.  With a success rate of over 90%, Active Release Techniques (ART) has become one of the most sought after soft tissue & athletic injury treatments in the world today.  It is one of the most effective treatments for muscle, tendon, ligament, fascia, and nerve tissue problems.  It has resolved carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ disorders, bursitis, plantar fascitis, and helped Olympic athletes achieve gold medals.

ART provides a way to diagnose and treat the underlying causes of soft tissue problems.  Symptoms often include aching, numbness, tingling, and burning.  Soft tissue problems develop from overuse injuries often called Repeated Stress Injuries (RSI) which have become the number one health problem in the workplace today - surpassing even lower back injuries.

How do overuse injuries occur?  Over used muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and other soft tissues change in three ways: Acute Injury (pulls, tears, collisions, etc), Repeated Small Injuries Over Time (micro-trauma), and Poor Oxygen Flow (hypoxia).  Each can cause the body to produce tough dense scar tissue (fibrotic adhesions) in the affected area.  The scar tissue binds up and prevents the tissues from moving freely.  As scar tissue builds, muscles become short and weak, tension on tendons cause tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped.  This can cause limited ranges of motion, loss of strength, pain, tingling, numbness, burning, or weakness.

What is an ART treatment like?  The ART Doctor uses his hands to evaluate the texture, tightness, and movement of the muscles and other tissues.  Once discovered, abnormal tissues are treated by the Doctor combining precisely directed tension by hand with very specific movements of the patient.

History?  ART was developed, refined, and patented by Dr. P Michael Leahy, CCSP.  Dr. Renick studied with Dr. Leahy and his accredited instructors.  Dr. Renick completed ART credentialing in all three disciplines af ART: spine/torso, upper extemity, and lower extremity as well as all advance ART training.
